The Story
As a young kid, some of my best memories were spent waking up early and hitting garage-sales with my grandma around our family cottage. Decades before thrifting became trendy, she was already a master treasure hunter - the kind of person who could spot value in a pile of forgotten junk. We’d spend weekend mornings driving around looking for hidden gems, and somewhere along the way I inherited the obsession.
Years later, while digging through the unfinished basement of her little old house, I came across bags filled with old watches. Most were destroyed, scratched up, broken, or just barely hanging on. But mixed in with the junk were finds with potential: vintage Timex, iconic Casio, classy Seiko, and other overlooked classics that had too much character to stay buried in a basement. I couldn’t leave them there.
What started as curiosity quickly turned into a passion. I began buying tools, learning how watches worked, and teaching myself the basics of restoration and refresh work. Even just the craftsmanship in old mechanical watches blew me away, whether they ticked or not. A few watches became ten, then fifty, then hundreds. Since then, I’ve sourced watches from all across Canada, giving forgotten pieces a second life and getting them back where they belong - being appreciated on someone’s wrist.
Every watch carries its own history, wear, and personality. Some are clean and timeless, others are weird and conversation-starting, but all of them are meant to be worn and appreciated again.
A special shoutout to my partner, Natasha, for coining ‘Second Hand Seconds’, being a rockin market booth helper, and modelling those lovely ladies watches you see in the store!
Thanks for being here!
